HUNGER AND POPULATION:

Hunger and Population: The word “HUNGER” not mean to be hungry or underfed, but it really means not having enough to eat or not sure about next meal. The hunger is a mighty problem of the world from the day one. Many people still in this so much developed world starve to death. This death rate is more in under development countries. People struggle for overcoming “HUNGER” problem. Some people give this hunger a little importance like millionaire people. But they don’t know those people who had not enough money to buy some grains for them and to feed their children. "Food is more than a trade commodity," pleaded Sir John Boydorr in 1946. Some countries like United States of America is struggling for the complete eradication of hunger. The first director-general of the new Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Boydorr fruitlessly proposed plans for a World Food Board to protect nations and people from hunger in the world market system. World hunger is one of the biggest problems faced in this world today. About 24,000 people die every day, and most of these deaths are faced by children under five. There is lot of food in the world but still hunger and struggle for hunger. About 1/10 of the world population suffer from chronic hunger every year. Because of the hunger problem, the majority of people suffer from blindness, anemia, malnutrition related problems and other diseases because they are not getting enough diet. Now if we focus on some under developed countries that why their government fails to supply enough grains to the people and people starve to death. We see a major problem of the population in those countries. Hunger and population are directly proportional to each other. Okay now let’s take an example of “THARPAKAR” area in “SINDH” of “PAKISTAN”. Recently, this area of Pakistan is hit by “Famine” in 2014 and still facing the worst problems. Now if we see the population factor of this area, we see a woman have 7-9 children. When I visited this area I shocked to see that a family having 11 children. Now if they have only 2-4 children, then a sack of grains (flour) is enough for them for some days. But now they have 11 children and 2 parents; total 13 people, can face worse problems. Now they need 2 sacks of grains to fulfill the needs of her family. Pakistan is an agricultural country and still she have to face the problem of food crisis. This is the worst negligence of the “government of Pakistan” especially “government of SINDH”. Hence, we should control our population for the control of hunger. Following are some causes of Hunger. 1- Population. 2- Subjection and dearth (poor quality). 3- Environment and consumption. 4- Violence 5- Gender bigotry. The above mentioned, are the major causes of the hunger in the world. This hunger problem is in under developed countries because of low literacy rates. We should improve literacy level in these countries to steer clear of this worst problem. Consequently, the world has both the knowledge and the resources to eliminate hunger. They should use these and should be on the same page to solve this problem because this problem is delving into the roots of us. The article of Anna Mckenzie also reflects this problem.
