WHY SCIENCE EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT:

Importance of Science education:

“Science” is basically a systematically organized study on a specific subject. We can define Science more precisely as: “the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment”.

The old science definition is “knowledge of any kind by observation”.

The science has got so much importance in our life now days. We are so much used of Science, that we can’t imagine living without science; more precisely, Inventions of Science. This Science has blessed our lives and made it a heaven. We all are thankful to Science for producing that great bliss.

As we know that education is very important in one’s life. The education shapes the lives of people. Without education, man is just like weeds; useless.

Today’s life is modern life and it is wholly surrounded by “computer”. Computer has got the vital role in our lives. Science education has great importance because use of computer has reached almost all field of life. Science tells people about how the happening in the world is happening. One of the greatest inventions of science is the computer. Computer is reached in every part of world. It is through the computer that we can make contact with any people, situated miles away from us in just few seconds. This is really bliss of science.

Science, as a subject is universal and knows no boundaries. The claims of Science for inclusion in the school curriculum came to be recognized after years of active and persistent efforts. Science almost revolutionaries human life and proved indispensable for existence of man.

Beside all the other subjects, science is also very important. Students should be efficient in all walks of life. They are learning English, History, Religion education; they should also get science education. Prof. H.E. Armstrong says that Science is taught to provide training in and knowledge of Scientific method, which is useful in the life pursuits. So this needs a School base of Science education. This shows that Prof. H.E. Armstrong also stresses on science education because they know that science is very important in one’s life. Following are some points which reflect why Science education is important:

1-      As science is the knowledge of observing so, it gives a unique property of observing to people.          
2- Science education clears the concepts of minds. Science educates man by concepts. The motto of Science is “LEARN BY CONCEPTS”.

3-   It makes one systematic and enables him to form an objective judgment.

      4-Science education is supremely more useful for our direction in life.

            5- Scientific Discoveries of some scientists like Newton, Faraday etc made people to think. So, science has first rank in humanistic studies.

            6- Science has its cultural value. It has a literature of its own.

            7- As education provides the obedience, science provides the discipline of mind.

            8- Science develops the people’s minds.

Hence, Science education is very much importance. No one can deny of it’s importance in our education. Herbert Spencer in his, "What Knowledge is of Most Worth" gives information which study of Science furnishes. According to him, Science learning is incomparably more useful for our guidance in life.
